Andie's Disney Party

ANOTHER MICRO PARTY FOR OUR MINI, THIS TIME IT WAS DISNEY EVERYTHING ALL DAY LONG FOR HER AND HER COUSINS! SHE COULDN'T DECIDE WHICH DISNEY MOVIE SHE LOVED BEST SO WE JUST DID.IT.ALL.

Little Andie turned four with yet another micro party (what I call a little home party with around 5 or so kids.)

I started doing these parties during Covid because of restrictions and actually got to dive into so much detail with the themes because I could tailor everything so specifically to the kids. Because she is used to these mini parties, I thought I would continue on until she starts school because she loves hanging out with her brothers and cousins - inbuilt friends!

I planned some fun Disney games, loads of cute food (hello the mandarin 'pumpkins' and watermelon ball 'apples', and basically just embraced my and Andie's love of all things Disney!

Games:

Captain Hook Toss - Hook

  • This was so easy, with basic plastic hooks from KMART superglued to a board. I cut out paper plates to make the rings and added a point system for the kids to try and earn!

Tangled Balls - Rapunzel

These were made of scrunched streamers with prizes inside. The aim of the game is to 'untangle' yours first!

Frozen Challenge - Frozen

I froze some Lego blocks into shallow little plastic tubs of water, and then before the kids attacked them with forks - I poured on a little boiling water to create some cracks. The first person to dig out their blocks wins!

Bow and Arrow Challenge - Brave

The kids channelled Merida with this bow and arrow game (from Kmart.) We have used this so many times, with both kids and parents loooving it.

Design your  Slippers - Cinderella

Now let me put a disclaimer on this one! We have 9/11/13 year olds at all of my kid's parties, so always have something the big kids will love to do. This craft activity was mostly for them but the little kids LOVED IT. Would I spend money on this for a 4th birthday without the big kids - no. But if you have tweens and teens they will loooooove decorating their own sneakers.

I'm all about budget-conscious ideas, and this can be done inexpensively with enough research.

The challenge is finding the sneakers, cheap. I did loads of research to find them in all the sixes without spending too much. And using coated sneakers means the kids can use Sharpies to decorate olus ribbons, gems and more.

PinThe Fin On Flounder - The Little Mermaid

I couldn't find a 'Pin The Tail' Disney-themed game online anywhere, so I made my own on Canva!

These gorgeous Disney books were on sale at BIG W so I snapped them up fast! They were so cute as party favours!

Ok, this was my first time attempting a Dolly Varden cake and lol, it was harder than anticipated. I used the specific tin from Spotlight which helped, but despite a practice, I couldn't get it to cook through entirely. It needed a hole in the middle for the doll anyway, so with a little scooping we were fine!
