Gabe's Carnival First Birthday

Oh my, oh MY! This party had a hilarious start! It began with the night before the celebration. It was going to be held in our backyard, but I noticed a bad smell... and realised a pipe was leaking. A quick call to our landlord had them sending out someone to fix it fit first thing in the morning and I thought the crisis had been averted.

Until the morning of the party when I noticed a handful of bees flying around the yard. Huh? I never saw bees.  As I approached the large tree, smack bang in the middle of the yard, we discovered a huge nest. Of wasps. Greeeeat.

So thanks to my INCREDIBLE village (looking at you Cassidy and Uncle Brad) we managed to transport the entire party to a local park, including the magic show. Lol! 

Despite the hectic start, it was a morning filled with total fun and joy for our little one year old Gabe The Babe.

Parties don't always go to plan, but as long as you have loved ones by your side (and some snacks and drinks on hand), all will be well. And it was.
